A Little About Us
We are Phil and Heidel, the faces behind La Belle Vie Vintage. Both originally born in Wales we are now living full time in beautiful Normandy where we spend our days working on our passion for vintage and antiques.
Our philosophy goes beyond the aesthetics and we believe in the long term sustainability of well made, hand crafted pieces that have stood the test of time. Some items and furniture are a little battle scarred and shabby but this can also add to their story and character. Where possible we re-use, re-cycle and work with what we have. We never throw anything away and love turning things destined for the bin into something useful and beautiful once more.
We only buy pieces that we love and search high and low to find treasures for our customers. To bring you a selection of items full of nostalgia and charm.
We also create decorative items for the home including art, mannequin lamps and painted pieces of furniture. Everything is made from other vintage and pre-loved items and infused with love and care.
Our atelier is at our home in the French village of Torchamp. It is a creative space where you can view items for sale and you will also find us working. cleaning and repairing crystal chandelier's, painting furniture, or creating something new.
We also run creative workshops here and use the space for photography backdrops.

Interior Design
We also offer an interior design service. Please explore our Portfolio of past projects to get an idea of what we do. Maybe you have a project in mind and don't know where to start or would like a complete bedroom makeover. We have a passion for creating atmospheric spaces, using vintage furniture, antique treasures and walls painted with natural breathable paints. The theatre of creating a look can be so much fun. From the initial design ideas and sourcing of the right pieces, down to the execution of the decoration itself.
Unique Wall Finishes
Paint has come a long way from the plastic based acrylic type. And we prefer to use natural breathable paints to create unique and beautiful walls. This can be a feature wall, where one particular wall has the focus or for a more cohesive look the whole room can be done.
We use lime based paints which have a very soft textural look and plaster paints which are painted and trowelled to create varying tones and effects through the paintwork. The paint is totally VOC free, anti bacterial, and anti allergy. The paint we use is from a small family run company called Autentico and the paint is produced in small batches here in France.
We also love a more dramatic distressed feature wall, where paints and metallics are layered to create a truly one off look. This can be created in a colour palette of your choice and the effects can vary.
